A Bald Spot?

My cat had an over-active scent gland in his tail, which caused a cyst to develope on his tail. We took him to the vet and he gave us some medication to give him. He also told us to get him fixed. We have done everything he told us to and the cyst has cleared up, the only problem is he has a huge bald spot on his tail. I was wondering is there anything I can do to promote hair growth, or will his tail be like that for the rest of his life?
Answers:
It takes hair two months to grow back to normal length, so time is what'll let you know. You should see some short hair growth within 2 weeks, but expect a two month time before it's all back to normal.
Give it some time it should grow back if you see no hair growth in about three weeks I'd take it back to the vet.
It's a very odd thing, but cats, when they are wounded, always seem to spontaneously shed the hair at the site of the wound. It must have something to do with aiding in the healing process.Your kitty's hair will grow back eventually...
It's possible that your cat's hair will grow back over time but if you want you can get medication from the vet to encourage hair growth. but if you do that i would just try and see if you can get a small amount first just to see if once the hair grows in from the meds once you stop the meds it stays in. because for one of that cats we had once they got a bald spot near the tail we gave them meds to grow hair and while we were feeding the cat the med the hair stayed in place but as soon as we stopped feeding him the med the hair fell out again so we decided to not give him the med anymore because it was expensive and he just had like this horseshoe area around the tail that was bald.
The fur should grow back without your interference!
It will grow back don't worry.
