my faamily found a cat outside in our backyard who was very skinny so we took her to the vet and and had her checked and stuff or whatever they do, and she was fine, so we kept her as a pet, about 4 to 5 weeks she seemed to be getting a large belly and her nipples were swelling, so we knew she was pregnent, a while later it seemed like the day she was gonna have the kittens cuz she was hiding and stuff. she was having labor pains i guess and then she just died. i have no idea how this happened.two days later we buried her, and im wondering why the cat died, and if it was possible to save the babies when the mom died?

Many times animals have complications in labor just like people. It is not always easy to tell because they can act like everythings normal when it's not. If she had complications that were serious enough to kill her then usually there is not enough oxygen being delivered to the babies and they are either born dead or severely brain damaged. She would have had to be at the vet's office as she died for the babies to have any chance and even then it's usually too late. I am so sorry for your loss.
Yes .
Sad to say, the babies might have required more work than you could have rendered and they can die so easily
There are a lot of reasons that she could have died, including complications with the pregnancy. It may have been possible to save her kittens with a c-section, but it would have had to have been done either prior to death or immediately after death.
I'm sorry that your cat died, most likely there was nothing that you could have done to save her. It sounds like something was wrong that could not have been detected by you.
Ohh no, I am so sorry to hear this...Is it possible she wasnt pregnant and something else developed. That is really sad, and yes just like humans the babies could have been saved if no time had passed. The moment she dies the babies lose all oxygen and food supply from their mother. It would have been traumatic to retrieve the babies from her anyway! Im sorry for your loss, go rescue a cat from a shelter that can provide you with years of love...Again im sorry for your loss, that had to have been hard
She probably died during labor. Unfortunately it happens. However, you won't really know how she died unless you take her to a vet and have an autopsy done. And it's definitely possible to save the kittens, but you probably wouldn't have gotten your cat to a vet in time. I'm sorry about this. I know it's sad!
im sorry bout your cat but my best guess is that she didn't get enough weight/nutrients because she was so malnurished when you found/rescued her so she might not have had the stregnth for labor resulting in her death im really sorry, theres almost nothing you could do the other people are right about the c-section, if you want another cat i recommend adopting a kitting im sorry for your loss and good luck
Leave her alone and let her be in heaven with her babies.
She probably had an illness that can only be detected by blood test like fiv felv, this could have caused a heart attack.
if she did have any illnesses like that then it was prob better for the kitens that they didnt survive because their quality of life would have been poor and eventually they may have died.
No love there would have been no way of saving the kittens unless you live in a vet because although the mother would have been dead the kittens have to be removed from the uturus a certin way to prevent them from bleeding to death, braking bones ect.
sorry to hear of your loss and your cat prob had the best bit of life while she was with you!
