8 week old kitten licking lips, shaking head, wont eat, throwing up..?

I got an 8 week old kitten on saturday and yesterday i noticed he was shaking his head a lot and scratching his ears. Today hes still doing that but he also wont eat, is vomiting a clear foam, and is like constantly licking his lips. He also hasnt played at all since we got him, has just been laying around. We have a vet visit for 5:30 because thats the earliest he could take us. Any advice on whats wrong and what i can do to help him until then? Hes lost 4oz since yesterday afternoon!

well throwing up foamy stuff is a sign of something as simple as a tummy ache, which explains the licking of lips which cats do when they feel sick, laying around, and not eating. it doesnt however explain the shaking of head and scratching of ears, which might be completely normal or maybe an ear infection which spread through his body and made him sick. maybe it's something he ate or eating too fast and it's good that you're taking him to the vet. bring a sample of his vomit to the vet and ask him what it could be. your kitty's probably feeling pretty icky right now though, so make sure he has lots of water (not milk some cats are allergic) and rest (food will upset his stomach more, especially if he is going in the car) available. and keep in mind that on the way to the vet he might get motion sickness and will probably drool a lot and probably be sick again. but you are a good pet owner and within a couple days your kitty might be feeling much better. i hope he does soon! :) and do give us an update
Your kitten is very sick, take it to the vet, if you cant afford to medicate it, you may have to have him put down.
Tell the vet it is an emergency. They may charge you a wee bit extra but they will see you earlier!! If not, call another vet!!
It sounds like poisoning to me, but I am not a vet. Please update when you get back from the vet's, Ok?
Poor kitty. Best of luck!
sounds like he is really sick , check with your vet and see what he has to say good luck
Your cat is dying, I have seen this many times before. Is he also having trouble walking around, looking like he may be drunk? Its a mind thing, I cant remember what my vet called it. Defiantly get it checked out tho.
What are you waiting for? TAKE HIM TO A VET ASAP, don't wait for the apt, tell them it's an emergency! Your kitten is very sick %26 dehydrated from the vomiting %26 diarrhea %26 may die! Good luck.
Get a small bottle that has a tiny nipple for him to suck on and fill it with warm Vitamen D milk.
Wrap him up in a warm/heated towel and hold him like a baby and feed him the milk.
That should take care of his weight problem, you're going to want to keep him in a very warm environment, let him lay around until you can take him into the vet. The clear vommitting can be fixed, it sounds like he's got a viral infection which the vet will be able to take care of.
Please give me an update after you're done with the vet or i'll worry.
Thankfully you have an appointment with a Vet. Your little guy could be very sick indeed.
Take your kitten to the vet. He's sick.
I hope everything is ok!
take him tooo the vets !! he must be really ill .. take it as soon as you can !! this sounds verry bad !!
You should wait for the vet or call back and see if you can drop him off. Maybe they can squeeze him earlier, between appointments? At the very least, the staff can see him and see if it's an emergency.
It sounds like maybe he got into some poison?
But I really don't know.
sounds like ear mites and also a stomach virus. but have a vet check first
Sounds like he may have an ear infection that may have spread throughout his body if he's not eating and vomiting. I would definitely take him to the vet and don't mess around. I would try to do what the lady before me mentioned try to bottle feed it milk but that may upset it's stomach more, but give it a try and keep trying the vet. best of luck!
Could be many different things, he's probably licking his lips as a response to the nausea and vomiting, the clear foam means there's nothing in his stomach. Just keep him quiet and offer food and water until you can get him to the vet.
it could be an ear infection or maybe he got into something posionious. good luck and get the vet as soon as possible
