Can a female cat be infertile?

I have a cat that I've had since she was 8 weeks old; now she's almost 4 years old. We let her come and go as she pleases, and she's never been pregnant. When we adopted her from the animal shelter, they told us that she hadn't been spayed yet because she was too young, but when she never became pregnant, I took her to the vet and he verified that she had not been spayed. So, I've always assumed that she's infertile, but now I think she might be pregnant. I'm very confused. Any ideas?
Answers:
She might be infertile, chances are very high. Or she is a very smart cat:-) Anyway dont spay her as I'm sure ppl here will rush to advise you. Take care of her and if she is really pregnant this time, make sure babies find good homes. Good luck!
Should go get her spayed. If you got her from the shelter just remember that probably most of those kittens will end up in there and very few will be as lucky as her. Go get her spayed immediately unspayed cats can also contract feline hiv.. it will kill her so dont take a chance on her life or the lives of possible kittens just do the right thing
1. There are no male cats in your neighborhood
2. All the male cats have been neutered.
3. She is not attractive ? She is not attracted to cats.
Well any animal can be infertile humans aren't the only species that can be infertile .
maybe
