Boston terrier owner . my boston is now 12wks old. i let her out to run in the yard now she scratches a lot .?

is this scratching related to maybe fleas or just because puppies scratches. also do you think she can hold her pee for 4hrs at a time if she is limited to her water intake when i am away. would you think she is almost house broken she will sometimes pee inside sometimes she won't let you know when she needs to go out why is that. I try to watch her but sometimes she go off and when i look up she is peeing on the floor. will i be able to see fleas if she has fleas and what if buy something over the counter to use. what is a good brand of shampoo for her and what type of bursh or comb should i use for her coat type how often should i brush her and bath her she smells since i let her out more now.

OK so it's not a cat...however, my brother's Bostons had many allergies. He had his pair tested and it cost about $250 each but found they were allergic to chicken and pork along with many other things that they eat. Even though there were some differences, they had many of the same allergies.
My point being that Bostons are sensitive and you may be seeing something that is from within that she's eating rather than something that is outside. If she gets fleas, you will see them probably on her lower belly area between her legs first.
12 weeks is still young for complete house breaking in some dogs so just be patient. There are plenty of over the counter flea shampoos, just make sure you read the directions and keep it on long enough to kill and fleas she may have. You can use baby shampoo (no tears) around her face.
Just to let you know that this is in cats and not in the dog forum.
I don't think anyone is answering you're question 'cause this is the cats section.
Puppies are so much fun, aren't they? LOL. Anyway, very young puppies have very tiny bladders. She may be able to hold it for four hours at a time, but you shouldn't limit her water intake, especially with this heat. Puppies will usually not have accidents where they sleep. This is why crate training is such a good thing. They will learn to control their bladder and bowels because they don't want to be around their own mess. I realize that puppies will often have "accidents" right in front of you and I dont really know why, but you have to be consistent. Everytime she has an accident you must immediately take her outside where she should have peed in the first place. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Don't clean the pee up first, get her outside right away. There are soooo many different training methods that are good. Mine may not be the best for you, but no matter what you do, you have to be consistent. Puppies will get confused very easily so don't change the schedule. Believe it or not, they just want to please us.
In regards to fleas, please check with your vet before using flea and tick prevention on a puppy this young. The best type of shampoo for dogs and puppies is oatmeal shampoo. It cleans while helping them not to have allergic reaction to the shampoo. It calms the skin. And don't bathe the dog more than once a month. Alot of people will argue this, but I have two dogs with skin allergies and bathing them too often takes the natural oils out of their skin and makes them more itchy and oily. For puppies, use a soft bristled brush. It is good to brush once a week and it's good that you are starting early. My dogs were both older when I adopted them and they do not like to be brushed. They were not introduced to it early and so they are scared of it.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
PS there are many great books on puppy training. Pick a good one and stick with it. What a good puppy parent you are!
You could get these things called "Pee Pee Pads" and for situations like a long period away from the puppy then he could go on that instead of the floor giving some training. You should ideally wash your dog once per month but in the times that he seems to be getting smelly then you should give a bath. The itching could be either fleas or allergies. To find that out you should go to the vet. If you're going to just buy over the counter flea medicine then you should use Frontline Plus. But if the itching continues you should take her to the vet. As far as brushing, it's good to brush daily but shorter hair breeds like yours don't really need it. You should do it at least once per week and once before you bathe her. You can go to any pet store and they'll have some dog brushes. You can also talk to them about what kind to get for your dog. Well I hope I answered your questions. : )
