I noticed one of our cat's breath was getting worse and worse, we took her to her yearly appointment and they told us the bad breath was from tartar and gingivitis. She had her teeth scaled (plaque removed) from her back teeth, and now she's fine. We have her on a food that is bigger shaped kibble to help keep her teeth clean. See if you can have a look at those very back teeth, if they are yellowed and the gum is really red around the teeth instead of pale pink, it could be the same thing. Good luck!
a toothbrush
Bad breath in cats is usually the result of tartar buildup on the teeth. Since it is not feasable to brush a cats teeth, you can purchase tartar control cat treats for your cat,
Look at your cat's teeth they might need to be cleaned.
You could try to cut down on wet food. Also, brushing is good. They also sell little tooth wipes for cats, which are much easier to use.
If you have cats like mine, that won't let you brush/wipe their teeth, maybe you could try sneaking some parsley into their food?
Bad breath could a sign that there is something wrong in the cat's mouth. It might be anything from tartar buildup around her teeth or something much more serious, or it could be the sign of a metabolic problem.
She should be seen by a vet
Have his teeth checked by your vet. His teeth may need to be cleaned.
my cat's breath is so bad my dogs turn away and its made my baby cry, i'm not kidding. his teeth are fabulous, the vet is always impressed. for him its due to liver, kidney and gi tract problems. there are lits of things that can make it bad.
my vet told me it was fine to give him slurp 'n fresh for dogs, only he doesn't like it. good luck.
