Baby Kitten. I need help!?

I'm fostering a kitten. When I feed it KMR, the milk comes pouring out of his nose. Then he can't stop sneezing. I don't know what to do. HELP!
Answers:
What are you using to feed? If you're using a syringe (without needle) it could be that you're feeding too quick. If you're using a bottle, it could be the hole in the "nipple" is too big.
You could try using an eyedropper instead, or get our vet to show you how to tube-feed.
Another possibility is the kitten has a cleft palate; one or more openings in the top of it's mouth- this would make it very hard for it to suckle, and milk could go directly into the spaces above the palate. You can check this by feeling it with your pinkie.
The way it's going now your kitty is actually at danger of getting lung problems, because if it can't swallow quick enough, milk might go down it's windpipe too.
So I hope the above tips will help.
Good luck, and thumbs up to you for taking this heavy task on.
use a medicine dropper instead of those little bottles it will give you much more control while feeding it
you should ask a vet
are you sure the kitten is hungry?
He could be drinking it to fast. But also some cats are allergic to KMR and other supplements. I would take him to the vet!
try feeding it slowly. he's probably trying to breathe and eat at the same time. it's ok just let him stop sneezing and stop every once in a while and let him catch his breath. try using a nose dropper to get the extra fluid out of his nose. if he's allergic, which he might be, try something else. but if this happened this one time it's just drinking too fast
Try feeding him a little more slowly, don't let him gulp. The eye dropper is a good idea for that. As he's drinking, gently stroke downward from his chin along his throat. This often helps tiny baby animals swallow better. Basically, you're just telling him with your finger where the formula is supposed to go after it hits his mouth. It helps in many cases. Do this while you're waiting for the vet to open. If it works, cancel your appointment; if it doesn't, you know you have the appointment waiting.
it could very well he is drinking to fast. are you feeding him with a bottle if so the hole in the nipple is to big try a smaller holed nipple and see if that works if not call your vet and ask them for some advice and they will know right away. good luck on your fostering i give you a lot of credit it is a hard thing to do if the baby is very young.......
get a nursing nipple bottle for kitten smaller opening at the tip and reguler vet visits and a special milk at walmarts are pet store
