I saw on the news yesturday, a group of kids beat this little kitten (4 months old I think) to death with a gulf club. The kitten was just on the front lawn when it happened.. They found all the people who killed the kitten.
Are they going to charge these people with murder? Because they did murder the kitten. And if they would choose to kill a little kitty, they could choose to kill a baby?
Sorry if I don't make any sence, but what do you think they will do with the people?

Unfortunately, these types of animal abuse aren't taken seriously enough, even though it's a KNOWN/PROVEN fact
that serial killers and evil people start out killing and maiming animals.
Spousal abuse guys, too.
It's really sad. Depending on the area where this happened, they could get off with as little as a small fine %26 a warning.
If they are juveniles, they probably won't get much at all.
About 8 years ago there was a guy running a small shelter for cats. Two 18 yr. old male thugs broke in and killed nearly all the cats with baseball bats- and the judge did almost nothing to them, as he considered animals too unimportant to take up time in his courtroom.
Mike Vick should go to jail for at least ten years, too.
But where animals are concerned no one does enough.
I like some of the judges on Animal Cops because they care.
Unfortunately killing an animal does not qualify as murder because in the courts pets are seen as property. They should be charged with animal cruelty and sent to therapy as well as some sort of criminal punishment. I do wish there were harsher laws on the books to punish those who torture and abuse pets.

No, because "murder" is the killing of a human. The only exception is the killing of a police dog, which as the partner of a cop, can be construed to be a cop.
If the kids are old enough, they can be charged with animal abuse, which is starting to have pretty tough sentences in some jurisdictions. Whether they are old enough or not, it's very troubling. Torture of animals is one leg of the "unholy trinity" of future serial killers, along with late bedwetting %26 starting fires.
In my opinion - yes - this is a "lead up" to hurting humans too.
If people like to hurt animals - they will eventually hurt humans. A La: Jeffery Dahmer. He started out torturing %26 killing animals %26 his parents thought he was just being a normal, fun loving boy! SICK. What kind of parents would think it was ok to find their son murdering a squirrel or cat?
Anyway - I doubt that the cat killers you're referring to will be charged with "murder."

No, they will not get charged with murder. However there is a good chance that they will be charged with animal cruelty and could end up serving jail time for it.
Unfortunately a murder charge can only be used when the victim is human in the American justice system. They can be charged with animal abuse but that's a far lesser crime. Those kids should get punished severely though. That is so disgusting. They will probably grow up to be violent criminals.

Murder, defined by Webster is the killing of one person by another. It is impossible for them to have murdered the kitten. So they can't be charged with that. What they did do, is kill it. And I hope they get a stiff penalty for that. I hope the punishment teaches them to respect living things and deals with whatever mental issues they have. To kill a defenseless kitten, there has to be something really wrong with you.
Those who killed the kitten will be charged with animal cruelty, and have to pay the consequence of what they have done. If the abusers are children, they will be sent to a Psychiatrist, and have to go through and pass a course on animal abuse, in an attempt to turn them around from being abusive, children who abuse animals at an early age, grow up to be criminals of the worst kind, which then requires them to be incarcerated for life, or be executed for their deeds.
I think their parents are obliged to pay lot of money for penalties. That's fair enough, because it's their fault that their kids turned out like that.
in uk a group of boys chucked a cat from high rised building (flats) they only got 6 months the cat got put 2 sleep and now silly people send the picture of those boys chucking the cat of the building 2 each phones so i guess what im saying they will get of with it no1 cares but us
They might be charged with murder or really bad animal abuse, because only the vets have a licence to " kill an animal". But the oly time a none licenced person can kill an an domesticated animal is if it has rabies.
