Are FEMALE Orange Tabby's really rare?

I have cats, an over the years they have produced many different colors of tabbys. All the orange ones though have been male until now. I have an orange female, about 4 months old, and a friend of mine insists that she is rare and worth money. I would like to know if this is true, and if there's anyone interested in buying her.
Answers:
Angela is correct; 75% of orange cats are male. It's a gender-linked color pattern, like calico.
While orange females aren't exactly rare, they are somewhat unusual. I have a 15-year old orange female who is the sweetest cat ever; the orange color seems to be an indication of a good temperament in cats, male or female.
What I would like Hon, is for you to get your female kitties fixed...too many pets and not enough homes. Please!
Sort of, I've read that female orange tabby's are one in four.
I worked at a vet and he said that is less common to have a female orange tabby but not so rare that she is worth a lot of money. Some people said that they have heard of a male calico(orang brown and white..the white is the decider on whether it's a calico or a torti) but the same vet said it is genetically impossible and basically if a calico has male organs it's a hermaphrodite.
i hope this helps and enjoy your cat and not how much she's worth. If she's loved she's priceless.
Orange females are uncommen but not extremely rare, we have bred many over the years it is more rare to find a tortishell male than an orange female, sorry but i do not think she is worth any more money being orange(ginger)here in australia, unless somone particually wanted a orange one,
however i have found them to be more like dogs mine loves to go for a walk with my dogs to our dam she is 1 yr old
If she is purebred she is as valuable as any other maybe a bit more
She would probably be the daughter of two red parents...
The value of a kitten is the love it gives and the love you give it.
About 3/4ths of orange cats are male. There are some orange females and I have met a few. We usually get at least 3 a year at the shelter I work at. As for being monetarily valuable? Not really. Unless you happen to find some female orange cat enthusiast. I doubt one exists, though, but there are some quirky people out there.
Calico's and tori's are 99% female. A male who is calico or torti would be XXY and could not breed.
i have a female orange tabby cat, my friend also has one. i wouldnt sell yours. They make wonderful companions and are really sweet.
i agree with the vet.enjoy your cat and even if shes worth ALOT of money [which shes not actually that rare]keep her and be proud to own her.did i mention i was interested?
jk!
I've owned cats for over 40 years and they are all so terrific. Orange female tabby's are not that rare...especially today when so many are being produced by being strays. I would have them fixed and keep them as pets. They need all the love you can give. Good luck.
