Are kittens scared of the dark...?! cuz mine is in my basement and its almost pitch black..?

He's too young to be in a dark basement all by himself.
Do your parents know you have this kitten?
If you have to keep him shut up in a dark basement, you're not giving him a good life. Please give him to someone else or take him to an animal shelter.
He's a tiny baby who really should still be with his mother. He won't live long under circumstances like this.
cats are originally desert animals. and like most desert animals...they come out at night when it is cool to hunt and such. ever wonder why your cat sleeps so much during the day? theu instinctly nocturnal. so no they are not afraid of the dark... at least ive never seen one to be.
Your kitten is scared of something else or just wants to be alone.
they see very well in the dark, but he will more likely be afraid of being alone than of the dark. put a blanket with a wind up clock on it so it will help keep him calm. better if the blanket has your sent on it as well, but I am sure he will be o.k. Why is he in the basement? can't you bring him in the house?
The kittens need light just like any other animal. It's not good to keep them in a pitch black basement because they will never gain their eye sight. In fact it's a cruel thing to do to them.
Why aren't the cats up stairs with you or your family?. If you have a pet I would think you would want them to be a part of your family and have them socialize with people. Keeping them in the basement, they will be afraid of people and never have a normal life.
If you don't want them up stairs with you, they would be better off in a shelter.
Why is your kitten alone in a basement?
As for being scared of the dark, I wouldn't worry, if there's even a little light, your kitten can see far better than you can. you don't need to worry about her being afraid. :-)
He is 5 to 6 weeks old!!?? and you say he isn't a kitten, he is just like a newborn baby and you need to kitten proof his surroundings just like you would a babies surroundings. I don't know how old you are and I don't want to sound like I am being mean to you, but why would you get a kitten and then keep it in the basement? That is being selfish!! He is really too young to be away from his mommy. If he is scared, it is probably because he was taken from the comfort and warmth of his mommy and put alone in a basement. If you really care about that poor baby and you can't bring him upstairs with you, then it would be so much better to find him a home where he can be around people who will love and take care of him. Why is he away from his mommy at such a young age anyway??
I don't know why you have to keep the kitty in the basement that is kind of pointless to have a cat.Cats can see very well in the dark.
Why are you doing this? Are you sick? Don't keep a newborn kitten in the dark. Please take it to a shelter asap and seek professional help immediately.
