Definitely. Ultraviolet rays can burn even on a cloudy day. I would just let her out in the early morning and get her back in during the hours between 10-5. Then she can be out till the sun sets for the night.

I know some white cats, who are more sensitive, get sunburnt mostly at their ears. I don't know about the shaved cat, but it is possible, especially if she is light coloured.

Definately. Here in Australia white cats with pink skin can get thier noses and ears burt to such an extent that they require surgery.

Can a cat eat a duck?
i have 3 cats and i am wanting a duck, but i don't want them to hurt the duck.

Depends on how big the duck is. If it's full grown, if a cat really wanted to, I'm sure it could, but since it's so big, I doubt your cat will go for it. If it's a baby, your cat may not eat it, but play with it to death. I would suggest getting an adult duck and letting the cats get used to it. I had numerous ducks at my moms and we had like 15 outside cats (grew up on a farm) and they never even paid attention to the ducks.
I seriously doubt if cats would eat a duck. If you get a baby duck, they might play with it. Ducks are hard to have as pets. For one thing, when they go to the bathroom, they squirt everywhere. They are better by a pond. I know lots of times ducks and cats have gotten along fine.
My cat would freak out if he saw a duck, he is very predatory even though he is an inside cat. I wouldn't risk it.

that has been raised outside and is very tame...adapt to a new home in an apartment with a desexed 4yrld female cat with no access outside? im worried for my baby that went to his new home today??

She may knock him around a little, but he'll learn to keep out of her way and she'll learn to be more tolerent of him being so small.

some people think cats are beter off in doors anyway and i half agree, i had 4 cats and i only have 1 now. the others all got run over and i didnt live on a main round back then. not 1 reach their 3rd birthday. My cat that is left is now 7 and since we have moved she only goes out if we make her, and she was a outdoors cat before.
now the kitten has company which is good. someone to play with is beta than being on her own.
Long as he learns the new family rules, like litter boxes but that should be natural. My cat's mother was a stray and she adapted fine to family life.

He went absolutely crazy and was crying night and day. It almost sounded like he was screaming. We tried to get him to get used to a life inside, but that didnt work.
But like I said, your kitten is still young, so if you stay consistent and have a lot of patient it might work. I would suggest playing with the kitten a lot and occupying him, so he wont get bored...

Camping Problems?
i'm going to a friends sleep over tonight and i just found out were sleeping in a tent. I would be ok with it if it were a normal backyar but she lives in like the woods. It may seem wimpy but i hate it! Any advice the could help me through the night.?

You may come out of this camping trip with a new love for nature. You will want to plan your next camping trip in a real wilderness area. ok so there is this female stray cat that has taken a liking to me [ she doesnt come in to the house but i do feed her outside annd give her water]
she is a med sized cat and when she stand regular he back is a little arched. her belly is big but not huge and her nipples are swollen
is this cat pregnant? i can not afford to take this cat to the vet but i am willing to help it along and take the kittens and mom to a shelter when theier old enough.
but if she is indeed pregnant, how long does it usually take for them to have kittens?
she came about a week agoa and was a little smaller.
i gave a her a large box with a blanket i dont force her into it but i keep it by my garage if she so chooses to use it.
she doesnt look verrry pregnant
she is very affeconiate
there is 2 other neighborhood cats, when they come by my house our stray will pitch a fit and start hissing and everything. but shes never like that to me.
is she just being territorial?

Hard to say without seeing the cat, but there's a good chance she is pregnant; they start to 'show' at about 5 weeks and have the kittens at about 9 weeks. Pregnant mothers will often become suddenly more friendly and approachable and may come into homes when they are ready to have their kittens.
It's a good idea to provide her a safe comfortable place to have her kittens, but in the end she'll have them wherever she wants, not necessarily where you expect. If possible please get her indoors before she has the kittens so they won't be left outside; kittens do best in a home environment, especially the first few weeks until they get weaned. Some shelters and rescue groups will foster mothers to make sure the kittens are safe, and that the mom gets spayed before she has another litter.
A cat pregnancy is about 60 to 70 days. You should try and contact a local rescue to help you out now. Don't just wait and take them all to a shelter because the odds they will make it out alive aren't very good. A rescue will help with the cost of spaying the mom and having her and the kittens vetted. Check out the rescue, the animals have a better chance that way.
If she's stray, and not spayed, she's pregnant.
Cats come into heat around 5 months old, they don't go out again until they are pregnant.
They're pregnant for 3 months.
She will probably hide the litter, you won't see them until they are walking around.
Cats are excellent mothers, they usually don't need help.

It's called FreeCycle. www.freecycle.org will give you a list of freecycle groups in your area you can join and post the cat and see if someone might want to give her and her kittens a home.
